We differentiate between your personal data that may identify you and information on suspected criminal activity you supply to us.
Your private information
- Your personal information will never be sold, used for any form of marketing or abused in any way. Your personal information will only be used as indicated here.
- Your personal information may be shared with the South African Police Service who may contact you if they have reason to believe your information can assist. (Note: Reporting the incident to us does not substitute for pressing formal charges at your nearest police station).
- Should a South African bank account be involved, full information regarding the incident may potentially be shared with SABRIC, the finacial regulator and/or the relevant South African Bank(s). In these cases it may be required to supply your full details to them. Even so, banking laws and confidentiality still applies protecting you.
- Your personal data will be visible to a small select trusted group of Artists Against 419 administrators and a small select group of members of the South Africa anti-cybercrime sector. The sole purpose of this visibility is to investigate incidents you report to us and to potentially contact you should we require more information.
- Your personal data will not be shared outside the parties.

All such information may be shared with the previously mentioned parties, hosting providers, domain registrars and registries and/or any party we deem able to assist in investigating and mitigating criminal activities.
